The Bavarian National Museum and Its Collection
There are many famous museums in Munich. They are visited by thousands of historians, art critics, students, and people, who are just interested in social, technological, and artistic history of Germany. One of the most popular museums is the Bavarian National Museum . In this article I would like to discuss the recent exhibition that was organized in this museum.![]()
This museum exhibits items that are related to different artistic movements, for instance, Art Nouveau, Renaissance, Baroque, or Gothic. I am particularly fond of Gothic and Renaissance styles, and as far as I know this museum homes one of the finest collection of paintings and drawings that were created during these periods. I was very much impressed with the gothic Madonna that once decorated Seeon Abbey. This sculpture represents medieval vision of Virgin Mary; at first glance, it seems that the author tried to portray a queen with her child. Apart from that, the Bavarian National Museum houses the paintings by such prominent artists as Adam Krafft, Giovanni Bologna, and Matthias Steinl. ![]()
Overall, the paintings and sculptures displayed in this museum have been thoroughly studied by art historians. A great number of students wrote numerous writing term paper essays and writing term paper assignments about them. This art gallery is almost certain to appeal to every visitor. Every person, who has once been to the Bavarian National Museum, always wants to return there. I can say that this art gallery definitely lived up to my expectations.
